Blaine Eric Jones

Blaine Eric Jones, 66, of Muncie passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 following a courageous battle of legionnaires disease 20 years ago. He then proceeded with his first open heart surgery immediately after. An additional open heart surgery was then performed six years ago. Two and a half years ago he found out he had nonalcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. He was a fighter and was known by the family to have “nine-lives”. He was born on October 31, 1957, in Muncie, Indiana, a son of the late Fordie R. and Norma J. (Roberts) Jones. Blaine attended Muncie Central High School and graduated in 1975. He found his love for music and the guitar with his friends Kevin and Mike. Together they played music in their trailer where they all lived together when he was 18. He was known by his family as “Mr. Fix-it” and enjoyed woodworking, mowing the lawn and tinkering with old furniture. He owned and operated Jones Auto Prep for over 20 years and was an excellent detailer. He loved his church family; those at Memorial Baptist Church. Blaine had a precious spirit, was very kind hearted, giving, and had a unique sense of humor. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brittany Jones (boyfriend: Cole Fulton) and Derick Jones (girlfriend: Abby Cowan); his ex-wife yet still good friend, Brenda Jones; siblings, Doyle Jones, Kathy Sandifar, Don (wife: Peggy) Jones, Bruce Jones, Karen (husband: Joe) McKinley, Melissa “Missy” (husband: Carl) Napier, Mark (wife: Amy) Jones and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, William and Janice Pyles. Blaine was like a son to them and he cared very dearly for them, as they did for him. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Memorial Baptist Church, 2911 South Phillip Drive, Muncie, IN 47302 with Pastor Chris Black and Ron Black officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Friends may call from 11 – 1 pm prior to the service at the church.
