Brenda Lea Howell

Brenda Lea Howell, 51, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2023 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on her way to work at Marion General Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1971, in Newburg, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Harry and Nancy (Snokes) Elder. Brenda was a 1990 graduate of Shippensburg High School in Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s degree in Missions from God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, OH. She graduated from Geisinger School of Nursing in Lewistown, PA and later pursued a master’s degree at Cincinnati Bible College. In 2002, she married Brad Howell. Brenda was a Registered Nurse and worked in OB at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was currently a Certified Lactation Consultant at Marion General Hospital. Brenda was a wonderful Christian with a servant’s heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. She loved everyone she met and was kind and forgiving. Brenda was a rock, anchoring her family and friends. Her world revolved around her three daughters whom she homeschooled. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making costumes for her daughter Emma’s theatre performances. Those left to cherish Brenda’s memory include her husband of 20 years, Brad Howell; three daughters, Emma Catherine Lea Howell, 17, Anna Estella Mae Howell, 13, and Ella Victoria Dayanne Howell, 10; her parents, Harry and Nancy Elder of Florida; three siblings, Monty (Linney) Elder of Florida, Lincoln Elder of Pennsylvania, and Victoria Elder of Pennsylvania; her father and mother-in-law, Terry and Catherine Howell of Franklin, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Ryan (Megan) Howell of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kris (Shibnum) Howell of Columbus, Ohio and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Brenda was preceded in death by a brother, Day Elder. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 911 S. Rangeline Rd, Anderson, Indiana with Rev. Jason Hawk officiating. Friends may call from 4 – 8 pm Friday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home New Castle.
