Eloise Paris

Eloise Chable Sherrod Paris, 62, of Springport, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 19, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. She was born September 10, 1950 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Richard A. and Eloise C. (Tanksley) Sherrod. Eloise was 1968 graduate of Muncie Central High School and a 1972 graduate from Ball State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Medical Technology, with a minor in English Literature. She was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer, financial secretary, liturgist and lay speaker. She also was a mediator and liaison with UMCOR. Eloise loved to read and sharing what she had learned with others. Eloise enjoyed anything where she could be outdoors. She spent many hours attending to her garden, raising her flowers and camping. One who enjoyed crafts, Eloise was especially gifted at decorating candles, painting, drawing and expressing herself artistically. She had a passion since childhood for animals and dearly loved her dogs Doodle and Shadow. She is survived by a son, John Richard Paris of Springport: a cousin, Mary Leah of Michigan; her father-in-law, Ralph E. Paris Sr. of Milton and her sisters-in-law, Brenda (husband: Bill) Shirkey of Florida, Terri (husband: Terry) Schocke of Minnesota and Chris (husband: John) Schocke of Indianapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Paris Jr., August 11, 2012; her mother and father-in-law, Mike and Martha Tetrick and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Christ’s United Methodist Church, at the corner of Columbus and “K” Streets with Pastor Mel Mozingo officiating.
