Jeannetta F. Baker

Jeannetta F. Baker, 80, of Greensburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 9, 1943, in Greensburg, Indiana, a daughter of the late Howard Wesley and Ruth Amanda Isabel (Robbins) Fletcher. Jeannetta graduated from Clarksburg Bible Covenant Christian School in 1961. She married Willard M. Baker on September 17, 1966, and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his death in 2020. Jeannetta and her husband were foster parents to 134 children. She loved to sew, read her Bible, and play scrabble. Jeannetta cooked and cleaned homes and also served as a Home Health Aide. She was a devoted Christian, a dedicated pastor’s wife, and a long-time member of Clarksburg Covenant Church. Jeannetta was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. In her own words, “She was ready to go to heaven to get her reward.” Those left to cherish Jeannetta’s memory include four daughters, Julia (John) Yagle of Indianapolis, Stephanie Baker, Danielle (Kenton) Everhart, and Becca (Braydon) Caudill, all of Greensburg; a son, Jeffrey Baker, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Delilah, Mia, WillaMay, and Elena, and many foster children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Fletcher of Greensburg and Michael Fletcher of Liberty; four sisters, Barbara Miller of New Castle, Marjory (Duane) Grady of Newark, Ohio, Sherrill (Tom) Ogden of Greensburg, and Bonita (Ed) Morris of Westport; a sister-in-law, Martha Baker of Greensburg, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jeannetta was preceded in death by her husband, Willard M. Baker, on August 19, 2020; a son, Jeremy Willard Baker on March 4, 2024; a grandson, Liam Baker, and her sister-in-law and dear friend, Katharine Browning. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Clarksburg Covenant Church, 6696 N. County Road 700 E. Clarksburg, IN 47225, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday.
