Lillian Mary Meta Hampton

Lillian Mary Meta (Luelf) Hampton entered into the presence of her Lord on November 17, 2007 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born April 6, 1913 in Truxton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Herman August Luelf and Alma Florentina (Winter) Luelf. Lillian was a homemaker and faithful member of the Troy Bible Holiness Church for over 60 years. She loved to read her Bible and was a faithful prayer warrior. She had a heart for missions and often sacrificed personally to send funds to missions. She also provided elder care to several in her community and it is notable that more than 30 adults claim they were raised by “Grandma Hampton.” Recorded in her own testimony is her conversion and desire to do God’s will. Included in that desire was for God to show her who her husband was to be. He did and Thomas Oscar Hampton and Lillian were married February 4, 1935. They are now reunited in Heaven. She is survived by four children, Helen Oleen Muller of Troy, MO, Lucille (husband: George) Creech of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy (wife: Kathy) Hampton of Overland, MO, and Susie Hampton of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters-in-law, Carolyn Hampton and Charlotte Hampton both of Kansas City, KS; 13 grandchildren, Tom (wife: Diana) Hampton, Kenneth, Elyzabeth, and Jonathan Hampton all of Kansas City KS, Roger (wife: Valerie) Hampton of Temple, TX, Rickey (wife: Angela) Muller of Wichita, KS, Pamela (husband: Phillip) Kachulis of Troy, MO, Douglas (wife: Karen) Muller of Overland, MO, Kay (husband: Mike) Dreiling of Kansas City, KS, Bill (wife: Senda) Hampton of Lenexa, KS, Mary Beth (husband: Tom) Sproles of New Castle, IN, Brian (wife: Melody) Creech of Indianapolis, IN, and Tracey (husband: Jerry) Smith of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Helen Luelf of Independence, KS, Esther Esterline of Cincinnati, OH and Faith Kendrick of Albuquerque, NM; Many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Sophia Rabodi, to whom the family owes much gratitude. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hampton in March, 1984; two sons, Carl Hampton and Paul Hampton; and five brothers and five sisters, Edward, Dena, Herman, Alma, Lydia, August, Cornelia, Henry, Grace, and Floyd. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in the Troy Bible Holiness Church in Troy, Missouri with the Reverends Carrell Day and Dan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Troy City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 9 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home and noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
