Nellie May Short

Nellie May (Ziglar) Short, 73, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Camby, Indiana. She was born, August 17, 1937 in Slate Branch, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Allen Ziglar and Olivene Temple (Taylor) Ziglar Patrum. Nellie retired in 1999 from Ferodo America after 31 years of service. She was a member of Life Line Baptist Church in Camby. Beloved mother of Ginger Reyna Thomas of Camby; loving wife of 38 years to John L. Short of New Castle; she is also survived by her brother, John Homer (wife: Patricia) Ziglar of New Castle; brother-in-law, Verthel “Bud” Price of New Castle; step-children, Steve (wife: Kimberly) Short of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Kemberlie Short Sahawneh of Theodore, Alabama and Catherine Short Watson of Irvington, Alabama; grandchildren, Emanuel, Amber, Morgan and Devon Watson, Jordan and Sarwah Sahawneh, Megan Short, Joel Thomas and Eva Marie Thomas (husband: Scott) Vargo; nieces, Christy Ziglar (husband: Brad) Caudill of Orlando, Florida, Carla Ziglar (husband: Kim) Campbell of San Antonio, Texas and Cindy Jo Ziglar of New Castle; a nephew, James Lee (wife: Brenda) Price of New Castle; great nieces and nephews, Jason and Scott Price, Ashley Campbell, Dustin Haas, Jessica and Kelly Jo Ziglar and Joshua Carender; several cousins and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a dear sister, Lillian Katherine Ziglar Price; an infant sister, Bonnie Jean Ziglar; an infant brother, Arthur Lee Ziglar; a son-in-law, Gregory W. Thomas and a half-brother, Michael Patrum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Lindsey II officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
