Paul Thomas Breece

Paul Thomas Breece, 74, of Indianapolis, died on Christmas day, surrounded by his loving family in his home following an extended illness. He was born August 31, 1940 in Brazil, Indiana to Mary E. Breece and the late Isaac D. Breece. Paul was a 1958 graduate of Ben Davis High School where he enjoyed playing Football and Baseball. Paul joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Department in 1964 where he enjoyed working until his retirement in 1988. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Indianapolis 500 where he attended every race from 1958 to 2014, never missing a single race, attending the 2014 race in a wheelchair with his children by his side. Paul loved spending time watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all types of events which included sporting events, high school plays and even the occasional piano recital. Paul was a member and a strong supporter of the VFW, F.O.P. (Fraternal Order of Police) and the MCSD Ladies Auxiliary along with several other charitable organizations. He is survived by mother; Mary E. Breece, brother, Isaac E . Breece (Peggy); sons, Paul Ray Breece and Thomas E. Breece (Laura); daughters, Beth Ann Garrison and Sherri S. Lytle (Duane); grandchildren, Paul T. Breece II, Lauren R. Rich, Dustin Lytle, Bethany Cook (Andrew), Joshua Breece (Kathleen), Kelsey Breece, David Breece, Mary Garrison and Ella Garrison and great-grandchildren, Ava Breece and Julia Rich, He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac D. Breece and brother, Samuel D. Breece. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girl School Rd., Indianapolis, with Pastor David Berthold officiating. Burial will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
