Robert Louis Hough

Robert Louis Hough, 72, of Losantville, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at home. He was born on October 12, 1953, in Beech Grove, Indiana, a son of the late Jerry L. and Jacqueline (Miggenburg) Hough. Robert was a 1969 graduate of Warren Central High School and proudly served his country as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Army, serving both at home and abroad. His love for his country remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. Following his military service, Robert devoted himself to the family business, Hough Brothers Drywall—an innovative company that many years ago helped introduce drywall to the state of Indiana. He took great pride in his work and was known for his determination, strong work ethic, and the quality he brought to every job. For many years, Robert worked for Kurt Hough at H & H Drywall and also owned Robert Hough Drywall before retiring in 2022, leaving behind a legacy that spans generations. Outside of work, Robert found joy in hobbies that reflected both his precision and creativity. He had a deep passion for building and flying RC airplanes and, along with friends, helped construct the largest Telemaster RC plane ever flown. He was a member of the Screaming Eagles RC Club and often flew at the Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie. He also enjoyed fishing and especially cherished time spent gaming and making memories with his grandchildren. Those left to cherish Robert’s memory include his loving companion of 27 years, Roxanne (Fisher) Lewis; three sons, Rob (Christie) Hough of Albany, Michael Hough of Indiana, and Jeremiah Hough of Texas; two bonus daughters, Tracy (Joe) Tinsman of Farmland and Stacy (Rick) Weber of Eaton; grandchildren, Jacqueline “Sophie” Hough, Mallory Archer, Jesse Archer, Hunter (Kyndal) Tinsman, Walker, Jacie, Landen, and Brylie Tinsman, Terri Weber, Kaylee (Spencer) Ashburn, Danielle Weber, and Travis Weber; two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Haven Tinsman; and a nephew, Matthew Hough of Indianapolis. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry Hough, and a sister, Roberta Hough. Friends may gather to remember and celebrate Robert on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle. Military honors will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. by the United States Army and the American Legion.
