Shirley Ann Catron

Shirley Ann Catron, 87, of Camby, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Sunday, March 2, 2025, at home. She was born in Indianapolis on July 25, 1937, the daughter of the late Walter Orville and Bernice Ethel (Moore) Griffith. Shirley was raised in a Nazarene pastor’s home and loved and faithfully served the Lord all her life. She read her Bible and prayed often throughout each day, especially for her family. In recent years, Shirley attended the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Indianapolis. Shirley worked for Best Lock Corporation in Indianapolis for many years and also worked with her daughter, Sharon, in childcare. Shirley loved fishing, taking her grandchildren to the park, and listening to Christian music. Family was most important to her, especially the salvation of her loved ones. She especially loved cooking for her family and having them all together. Those left to cherish Shirley’s memory include a daughter-in-law, Karen Brown of Connersville; her grandchildren, Ricky (Jessica) Catron of Connersville, Benjamin (Sarah) Catron of Connersville, Rebekah (Ryan) Scott of Connersville, Christina (Terry) Cox of Indianapolis, Amanda Catron of Indianapolis, and Carrie (John) Farrell of Greenfield; her great-grandchildren, Cassandra (Jacob) Scott, Logan (Kirsten) Manson, Hannah (R.J.) Scott, Jacob Scott, McKenzie Catron, Olivia Catron, Ella Catron, Kelsey Ford, Kenden Catron, Joshua Scott, Jay Ford, Addison Isaacs, Aaron Cox, and Liam Catron; her great-great-grandchildren, Hudson Miller, Kingston Catron, Hazel Miller, and Kaivier Ford, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her three children, Ricky Catron in 2007, Sharon Catron in 2021, and Lawrence Catron in 2021; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Catron in 2024; a grandson-in-law, Jeremy Ford in 2023, and a brother, Larry Griffith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Wesleyan Holiness Church, 5102 W. Minnesota St., Indianapolis, Indiana, with Pastor J. Stevan Manley officiating. Burial will follow in Mooresville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service Saturday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle. The Sproles family and staff are honored to serve the family of Shirley Ann Catron.
