Theresa Joann Lane

Theresa Joann Lane, 66, of Martinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2026, at home, surrounded by the loving family she so dearly cherished while they sang, “I will meet you in the morning.” She was born on October 24, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Schwab) Genier. Theresa was a 1978 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School. On August 30, 1980, she married the love of her life, Dallas Lane, and together they shared a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and the love of the Lord. A loving Christian wife, mother, and grandmother, Theresa’s life was a reflection of the things she valued most. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into her home. She loved raising and homeschooling her children, investing not only in their education, but also in their character, faith, and daily lives. Theresa had a gentle and giving spirit, and she found great happiness in caring for those she loved. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for herself, her children, and her grandchildren. Each stitch was another expression of her creativity and love. Her grandchildren brought a special light to her life, and she treasured the moments spent with them. Theresa considered her daughters to be her best friends, a reflection of the close and meaningful bond they shared. Theresa was a longtime member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Indianapolis for several years and had attended Bible Holiness Church since moving to Martinsville. Her faith was a steady foundation throughout her life, and her love for the Lord was evident in the way she loved and served her family. Those left to cherish Theresa’s memory include her beloved husband, Dallas Lane; four children, twins, Jessica (Eric) Jude of Langesville, Ohio, and Jennifer (Christopher) Yaney of Dixon, Missouri, Derrick (Christina) Lane of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and Samuel (Sydney) Lane of Greencastle; 12 grandchildren, Cassandra and Eric Jude II, Ariana and Asher Yaney, Kendall Goderwis, Devin and Daniel Lane, Dominic Freeman-Lane, Stella, Ava, Jonah, and Elijah Lane; five sisters, Vicki (John) Roller of Franklin, Marsha Scott of Greenwood, Rita Thompson of Sun City, Arizona, Kathy (Jerry) Black of Plainfield, and Donna (Kris) Eggert of Speedway; and a brother, David (Stacy) Genier of Indianapolis. In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Genier, and an infant brother, Stephen Genier. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Avon Parkside Church of the Nazarene, 47 N. County Road 625 E. Avon, Indiana, with Rev. Tim Stuart officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Avon Parkside Church of the Nazarene, and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.
