Beverly Joan Shelby, 81, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Sunday, June 14, 2015. She was born January 5, 1934 in Anderson, a daughter of the late Hubert W. and Juanita (Allford) King. Beverly loved caring for elderly people and serving others while employed with Home Health Companion as a home health aide. She also worked for 14 years at Nicholson File in Anderson. Beverly was active in Bible Study Fellowship and was a member of the Church of Christ in New Castle. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles and crocheting. Beverly was a 1951 graduate of Anderson High School. She is survived by her children, Cindy Trueblood and Linda Pennington both of Cookeville, TN, Terry (wife: Laurie) Brewer of Charleston, IL, Melanie Ridgway of New Castle, Timothy (wife: Deborah) Brewer of Anderson and Juanita “Susie” Thompson of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Moser of Fort Wayne; a niece, Jeni Turner; a nephew, Ray Pearson and a special great-nephew, Dillon Turner. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Brewer and a brother, DeWayne King. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Sproles Family Funeral Home where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Kinser officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Anderson Memorial Park. You may offer the family a personal condolence at www.sprolesfamilycares.com.
