    David Alan Hoard

    July 25, 1964 - August 15, 2020

    David Alan Hoard, 56, of Anderson, went home to be with Jesus on the morning of Saturday, August 15, 2020, unexpectedly at home. He was born on July 25, 1964 in Vandalia, Illinois, a son of Thomas Dean and Darlene Fay (Marshall) Hoard. David was a 1982 graduate of Kinmundy - Alma High School in Kinmundy, IL and attended Covenant Foundation College in Greenfield. He married the love of his life, Rachel McCormick, on July 6, 1985. David’s passion was tractor and equipment sales and he was employed by Roudebush Equipment in Westfield. He was a 35-year member of Grace Holiness Church in Anderson where he had served as Sunday School Secretary, Treasurer, and board member. He also taught in the church school, Anderson Covenant Academy. David was a member of the International Conservative Holiness Association, Union Bible College & Academy Association and the Anderson Republican Party. He served for many years as a Precinct Committeeman in Anderson. The ICHA Church Camp was very dear to David’s heart and he spent much time volunteering with grounds upkeep, youth camps, and as the annual family camp sound engineer for 25 years. David’s greatest love was spending time with his family and especially his two granddaughters. Those left to cherish David’s memory include his wife of 35 years, Rachel Hoard; three children, Matthew (Kelly) Hoard of Muncie, Philip (Joy) Hoard of Westfield, and Elisabeth Hoard of Kinmundy, IL; two granddaughters, Janaya Brooke Hoard and Karalina Leighan Hoard; his parents of Alma, IL; sisters, Nancy (Mark) Lake of Dellwood, MO, Amy Hoard of Kinmundy, IL, Kathy (Greg) Estes of Chattanooga, TN, Deborah (Michael) Price of Kinmundy, IL, Maria (Charles) Hardig of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Christa Hoard of Salem, IL; a brother, Steven (Rebecca) Hoard of Alma, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodrow and Mabel Hoard and Robert and Winifred Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 24, 2020 at the ICHA Campground, 4485 N. Fortville Pike, Greenfield, Indiana, in the Buddy and Jane Perry Tabernacle with Pastor Tim Wiford officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. With the safety of others in mind, please do not attend if you feel any symptoms of illness. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle.
