Deborah Kay Guffey

February 14, 1958 - May 21, 2022

Deborah Kay Guffey, 64, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Henry Community Health following a brief illness. She was born February 14, 1958, in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Fred and Rosie (Davis) Badiu. Debbie attended New Castle Chrysler High School and had worked at the Stop 3 Trucking Plaza and Flying J for many years. She was a very caring and loving person who always put others before herself. Debbie was somewhat of a surrogate mother to her siblings who love her greatly and will miss her dearly. Nothing was more important to Deborah than her family. Those left to cherish Debbie’s memory include her brother, Thomas Reed; a sister, Belinda Reed (fiancé: Bill Walker); a niece, Brandi Reed (fiancé: Rusty Bowers) and nephews, Nathan Walker and Landan Bowers all of New Castle. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Guffey, her father, Fred Badiu; her mother and step-father, Rosie and Lester Reed, and an infant brother, Nicky Badiu. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
