Ellen Mae Walker (Denney), 66, of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born on April 20, 1952 in New Castle, a daughter of Clyde Ernest and Nettie Ann (Catron) Denney. Ellen was raised in New Castle and graduated from Walter P. Chrysler High School in 1970. She met her husband John E. Walker in August of 1973 and they were married on November 10, 1973 at the Walnut Street Church of God. Ellen was a talented seamstress and made various formal gowns, costumes and clothing. She also enjoyed needlepoint, baking, cooking and laughing. Her joyful spirit was contagious and often infected those around her. She was a faithful member of the North Side Church of God where she made it her ministry to help people by cooking food and buying gifts. She found it her passion to share love through giving. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 45 years, John Walker; two daughters, Heather Walker of Indianapolis and Holli Walker of Middletown; one grandchild, Matthew K. Walker of Middletown; her mother, Nettie (husband: Larry) Stroud of Hopkinsville, KY; six siblings, John Denney of Hopkinsville, KY, Rose (husband: Gary) Sanders of Cerulean, KY, Don (wife: Sherry) Denney of New Castle, Pam (husband: Delbert) Adkins of Mooreland, Susan (husband: Bobby) Hester of Hopkinsville, KY, and Sam (wife: Mickie) Denney of Manassas, VA; five step-siblings, Michael (wife: Yolonda) Hamlin of Jena, LA, Patty Hamlin of Mississippi, Lynn Scott of Russellville, KY, Jason Stroud of Fort Mill, SC and Doug Stroud of Fort Mill, SC; sisters-in-law, Kathy (husband: Doug) Nagel of Anderson and Kristi Strother of Anderson; brother-in-law, Stuart Walker (companion: Kathleen McGinnis) of Noblesville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her North Side Church of God family. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Walker; father, Clyde Ernest Denney; father-in-law, Arch (wife: Mary) Walker and mother-in-law, Opal Smith.
