    Enoch Michael Luke

    June 10, 2002 - February 13, 2018

Enoch Michael Luke, age 15, of Yorktown, IN, returned with honor to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Riley Children’s Hospital. He was born on June 10, 2002 in Austin, TX, son of Christopher Layne and Julianna (Schick) Luke. Enoch was a wonderful, energetic, engaging young man. He loved to express himself through music and art and could often be found perfecting a new song, learning another instrument, or painting a picture. He also enjoyed a variety of physical activities including skateboarding, weightlifting, and running. In his free time, Enoch liked to watch TV with family members, read fantasy and science fiction, or play video games with friends online. He loved to go to the theater, especially to see Marvel, DC, and Star Wars movies. Over the past years, Enoch developed a keen interest in cooking and learned how to make a number of unique dishes. His favorite dish was sushi and he became quite skilled with his sushi creations. Oftentimes, at the dinner table Enoch would wage a battle of wits with family members about the existence of parallel universes, which superheroes are worthy to lift Thor’s hammer, what wind velocity his hairstyle could withstand, and whether bagels are bread. Enoch was kind and generous and he cared deeply for his family and friends. He was courageous in standing for his values and morals even when it was difficult to do so. Enoch was thoughtful in his interactions with others and often volunteered his time and talents at school, at church, and with his youth group. He strived for excellence in his academics, his music and art, and everything else he did. He was loved deeply by family and friends. Enoch is survived by his loving parents Christopher and Julianna Luke; five siblings, Kailey, Tenney, Ellie, Keira, and Kathryn; paternal grandparents, Layne and Judy Luke; maternal grandmother, Gloria Schick and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Enoch was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carl Schick. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Riley Children’s Foundation (http://rileykids.org), the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Indiana (https://www.rmhc.org), or the LDS Missionary Fund (https://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/missionary). Friends may call from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4800 W. Robinwood Drive, Muncie, Indiana 47304. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Enoch will be laid to rest next to his grandfather, Carl Schick, in Spokane, Washington.
