She was born on July 30, 1944, in Batesville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late George Newton Barnes and Viola Frances (McClusky) Barnes. Georgetta was a 1962 graduate of Prairie High School in Tipton County, Indiana, and attended Union Bible Seminary in Westfield. She married the love of her life, Larry Cooper, on July 3, 1965, and was a faithful companion in ministry with her husband as they pastored churches in Florida, Kentucky, and Indiana. Georgetta and her husband also served many Christian Schools as teacher and principal. She served as administrative assistant to the chairman of the International Conservative Holiness Association. She was a member of the Greenfield Immanuel Holiness Church. Georgetta’s personality was as large as life itself. She loved to laugh, have fun, and play games. She enjoyed reading and loved to travel, vacation, and especially go on cruises. Most importantly, was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and couldn’t go a day without speaking to each one by phone.
