James L. Sexton

February 17, 1972 - May 19, 2022

James Sexton, 50, of New Castle passed away on the morning of Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Hancock Regional Health in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born on February 17, 1972 in New Castle, IN, a son of Dave Sexton and Maggie Stephens. James graduated from New Castle High School in 1991 where he played football for the Trojans. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and worked for the City of New Castle for 20 years in many different positions. James enjoyed watching movies, shopping and spending time with family. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mandy Sexton; three children, Tyler Sexton, James (wife: Abbey) Sexton Jr. and Amanda Sexton (Tony Luna); grandchildren, Gage, Hunter Nevaeh, Charlotte, Christina and James III; father, Dave (wife: Robin) Sexton; brother, Matt (wife: Jessica) Stephens; sister, Maggie (husband: Eric) Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He we preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Sexton; mother, Maggie Stephens; maternal grandparents, John and Ina Hill and paternal grandparents, James and Edna Sexton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
