Julia E. Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Julia E. (Helton) Jones, 86, of New Castle passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She was born on February 16, 1936 in Burnside, KY, a daughter of the late Hiram and Pauline (Ellnor) Helton. Julia enjoyed school and earned several academic awards while she attended Chrysler High School and graduated in 1954. She later worked at Kresge on Broad Street and Henry County Savings and Loan as a teller. Julia began her office administration career at Modernfold followed by Community Printing. Julia was married to, Glenn Jones, on June 19, 1964. She worked alongside her husband at Jones TV and Appliance and later Quality Furniture and Appliance. Julia was an excellent piano player and loved spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Linda (husband: Kelly) Moistner; step-daughters, Karen Paul and Brenda Williams; grandchildren, Joey Turner II and Joel Turner; a step-granddaughter, Brandy Moistner; nieces, Brandy Helton (Brian Atkinson), Melinda Helton and Mandy (Darrel) Alfrey; a nephew, Levi (wife: Kayla) Helton; a former son-in-law, Joe Turner and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Karla Jones; a grandson, Joseph Purvis; a brother, Bill Helton; sisters, Joyce Helton and Carolyn Sue Helton and nephews, Chad Helton and Josh Helton. Memorial contributions may be offered to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
