Marjorie N. Brown, 96, of Applewood Villa in Muncie, and formerly of Mooreland, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born February 24, 1922 in Warren, Indiana, a daughter of the late Webster and Cecile (Wilson) Black. Marjorie was a 1939 graduate of Mooreland High School. She worked for Sears, the Henry County Auditor’s Office and for many years, she was the manager of the Henry County Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Marjorie was also a Mary Kay Consultant for 25 years. She was a charter member of the Gingham Gals Home Ec. Club and sang with the Home Demonstration Chorus of Henry County performing in the Rose Bowl in Hollywood, CA in 1954. Marjorie enjoyed bowling in many leagues for several years, crocheting, painting, reading, playing board games with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing solitaire on her electronic tablet. Throughout her life, Marjorie was active in the Messick United Brethren Church, First Christian Church in New Castle, Daytona Beach Drive In Christian Church, and in recent years the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Muncie. She was a life member of the Women’s Missionary Association of the United Brethren Church. Marjorie is survived by three daughters, Janet (husband: Michael) Modjeski, Janeane Dobbs of Muncie, and Janelle (husband: Leland) Keesling of Edgewood, NM; six grandchildren, Amy (husband: Robert) Boudrot of Fishers, Angela Modjeski of New Castle, Teresa (husband: Jeff) Schwer of Eaton, Eric Dobbs of Muncie, Jason Keesling (wife: Lisa Connell) of Carrollton, Georgia, and Jamie (husband: Jeff) Hunter of Albuquerque, NM; 13 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua and Blake Boudrot, Jacob, Adria and Ian Cross, Matthew and Mallory Schwer, Ethan Dobbs, Eleanor and Clara Hunter, Abigail and Isaac Keesling, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 ½ years, Norman E. Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 30, 2018, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Tony Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 - 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Henry County Pregnancy Care Center.
