Michael "Mike" Oldham Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Michael “Mike” Oldham, 72, of New Castle, formerly of Pendleton passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020. He was born on September 7, 1948 in Anderson, a son of Charles and JoAnn (Vail) Oldham. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Pendleton High School and furthered his education at technical college. He was drafted into the United States Navy and served from 1969 – 1973 during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Virginia Beach earned several service medals for his conduct during the cruise details. Mike enjoyed farming and farm equipment where he practiced his mechanical skills. He also enjoyed antique equipment, trains, steam engines and had his own collection of toy models. Mike loved to read and had an incredible memory that could recall everything he learned. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, the American Legion and lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Charles (wife: Marianne) Oldham; siblings, Gregory (wife: Dinah) Oldham, Steve (wife: Teresa) Oldham and Beth (husband: Allen) Greer; step- sons, Christopher (wife: Dawn) Roberts and Matthew (wife: Laura) Roberts; step-grandchildren, Isabelle, Colin and Benjamin; nieces and nephews, Catrece Oldham, Jennifer Oldham Hannah, Nathan (wife: Racheal) Oldham, Melissa (husband: Larry) Neal and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeannine (Oaldon) Oldham; mother, JoAnn (Vail) Oldham and nephew, Scott Oldham. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be offered to the Parkinson’s Foundation. www.parkinson.org Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton with military honors. Friends may call from 3 – 6 pm on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the funeral home.
