Paulette D. Christie

Paulette D. Christie, 74, of Mooreland, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at The Waters of New Castle. She was born on January 12, 1950, in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Paul Edward and Lesta Irene (Barlette) Pearson. Paulette loved playing bingo, attending the fair, listening to Elvis Presley, and shopping at Goodwill. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she enjoyed spending time with all of her family. Those left to cherish Paulette’s memory include her three sons, Doug Christie (Anita) of Mooreland, Scott (Jess) Christie of New Castle, and Adam (Carisa) Hill of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; granddaughters, Jennifer Jones, Jodi (Levi) Carender, Brandy Slavey, Mariah (Mike) Polanco, Alexis Christie, and Macey Jo Christie; grandsons, Jesse Jones, RJ (Ashley) Sapp, James Edwards, Gavin Christie (Alexia), Scottie (Kari) Christie, Kyle Hill, Jude Hill, and Mason Hill; great-grandchildren, Leah, Damon, and Jackson Slusher, Alayna, Jayce, and Amiyah Carender, Wyatt, Killian, and Aura Sapp, Kyla Raeann Pearson, Lexy Slavey, Dylan Christie, Kirk Christie, Nathaniel Edwards, and Lucas Vickery, Storm, Fletcher, Alex, Braxton, and Callie Christie; two sisters, Beth Pearson (Kenny) of Selma, and Tammy Jones (Steven) of New Castle; a brother, Phil (Melanie) Pearson of Missouri; two nieces, Donelle Niccum and Amanda Buck; nephews, Andy O’Neal, John (Ely) Curtis, Zack (Taylar) Pearson, and Robbie Jones, and several great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paulette was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Walter James Christie on March 19, 2024; daughters, Mary Jones and Paula Sapp, and infant daughters, Amy Lou and Lesta Dawn; brothers, Jeffery and Edward Pearson; a sister, Silvia (Joel) O’Neal, and a nephew, Allen Michael Pearson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at Sproles Family Funeral Home. She and her husband will be buried at a later date at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
