Rickey L. Ring

Rickey L. Ring, age 80, of Muncie, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. He was born on September 1, 1943, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late William L. Ring and Lois I. (Smith) Ring. Rick graduated from Royerton High School in 1961 as a proud Redbird. Rick worked at Chevrolet in Muncie for 33 years and the last 6 of those years Rick proudly served as the UAW Local 499 President. For 15 years following retirement from Chevrolet, he worked at Hi-Way 3 Hardware. Rick loved mowing, eating with his friends at Mancinos and helping anyone he could. He also enjoyed helping to plan his class reunion. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lisa Kerr (Michelle Haughn), Susan Hayden, Karen Ring Tolley (Dondie), Tracy Ring (Tanya Kinder Ring) and Diana McKinney; grandchildren, Amanda, Chase, Erica, Taylor, Kourtney, Devin, Tyler, Gray, Sarah, Casatee and Darryl Jr.; great-grandchildren, Evey, Addi, Amelia, Connor, Mallory, Grace, Kolt, Baby T, Damon, Keon, Terren, Damari, Dimitri, Valerie and Elizabeth. Also surviving are his close friends Linda Goth, Brenda Wallace, Mary Schumacher and several other friends, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny Ring and grandson, Connor Haughn. A celebration of life for Rick will be held at The Meeks Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Rd. Muncie, IN 47304 on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 4:00 PM. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to service. Burial will follow at a later date at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie.
