Robert V. Edmonds

Robert V. Edmonds, 66, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at home early Monday morning, May 30, 2022, following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 6, 1956, in Shelbyville, Indiana, a son of Don and Nova (Privett) Edmonds. Robert was a friend to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family more than anything. Robert dedicated his life to Christ in 2009, and his faith carried him and his family through the recent years of illness. He enjoyed fishing, being in nature, and animals of all kinds, especially birds and his squirrels that would patiently wait by the front door for him to feed them. He was the most easygoing, kind-hearted man who dealt with whatever life sent him, never complaining as he handled it with a cheerful attitude. A hard worker throughout life, Robert was a mechanic for many years and ran the Brown Road Garage with his father. He had worked at several factories in the Shelbyville area before retiring from Meridian Automotive. He was also custodian and groundskeeper for the New Castle Clinic for many years. Those left to cherish Robert’s memory include his mother, Nova Edmonds of New Castle, his loving wife, Tammy Edmonds; daughter, Connie (Dale) Catron of Losantville; grandson, DJ Catron of Bloomington; granddaughter, Cierra (Dustin) Pruitt of Mooreland; a soon to be great-grandson, Dakota Pruitt; brother, Gene Edmonds of Shelbyville; and sisters, Eva Edmonds, Mary Voiles, and Lori Voiles, all of New Castle; two sisters-in-law, Glenda (Johnny) Davis of Muncie and Stacey Clayborn of New Castle; two brothers-in-law, Donald (Pam) Paschal and Homer (Kasey) Paschal both of New Castle, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other extended family members including a special cousin, Cathy (Doug) Smith of Indianapolis. Those who welcomed Robert to Heaven were his father, Don Edmonds, a brother-in-law, Bucky Voiles, and other extended family members. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2022, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Payne officiating.
