Thelma L. Smith, 80, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis. She was born October 11, 1931 in Byrdstown, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Milton and Uldean (Flowers) Huddleston. Thelma worked for World Bestos Corporation for 18 years. She married Leroy Smith on July 30, 1949 in Lewisville. She was a member of Cadiz Christian Church, loved her family and enjoyed traveling, gardening and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leroy; two daughters, Susan (husband: Tom) Haskett and Linda (husband: Tim) Matney both of New Castle; a son, Milton (wife: Regina) Smith of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Bryan Haskett, Jennifer (husband: Brian) Blackford, Karen (husband:Joshua) Blessinger, Paul (wife: Brandy) Matney, Tim L. Matney (friend: Lori), Amy (husband: Bill) King and Jamie (wife: Leah) Smith; 14 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brayden and Connor Haskett, Caden and Dylan Blackford, Collin, Morley, Ashlynn and Peyton Blessinger, Bryce, Brett and Brandon Matney and Allison and Will King; a brother-in-law, Paul Roseberry; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Grimme and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton W. Huddleston and a sister, Judy Roseberry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Johnson and her nephew, Troy Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cadiz Christian Church,4894 W.
