Thomas J. Mahoney, 85, of Pendleton, passed away Thursday morning, June 16, 2016 at Rawlins House Health and Living Community in Pendleton. He was born on July 9, 1930 in New Castle, a son of the late Floyd Mahoney and Corbal (Wagner) Mahoney Bromley. Thomas attended New Castle Schools then served in the US Army for three years during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Broderick Corporation as a steel worker for 25 years before retiring. He had several hobbies including going to flea markets, collecting coins, guns and knives. Tom was a simple man and loved his children and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are three loving children, TJ (wife: Sonja) Mahoney of Pendleton, Joella (husband: Jon) Squires of Pendleton and Janis (husband: Brian) McAdam of Treasure Island, FL; grandchildren, Summer Johnson, Ashton Brown, Kristen Goodwin, Chancelor Mahoney, Ryan Squires, Nicholas Squires, Colin McAdam and several great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, George Weans; sisters, Betty Fulford and Nellie Sours Braglin. Per Thomas’ wishes, the family will have a private graveside service. Burial will be at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
