    Walter Patrick "Pat" Lee

    March 17, 1944 - February 25, 2015

    Walter Patrick “Pat” Lee, 70, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on the afternoon of February 25, 2015 unexpectedly in his home. He was born March 17, 1944 in Cambridge City, a son of the late Walter Guy and Dottie D. (Massengale) Lee. Pat attended school in Blountsville and Mooreland and graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1962. He also earned an Associate’s Degree in Small Business Management in 1986 from Ivy Tech Community College and owned several small businesses. Pat served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Mooreland Friends Meeting, a member of True Light Baptist Church and Open Arms Church. He loved his church family and his pastor, Paul Davis. Pat worked at the New Castle State Hospital, Ingersoll Steel and retired in 1983 from Chrysler Corporation. Pat dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Laurie (husband: Ronald) Day of Economy, Joseph Patrick Lee of Springport and Jennifer Madewell of Mooreland; his grandchildren, Eric Lee Day, Ethan Lawrence Day, Zacharey Patrick Lee, Brianna Hope Victory, Heather Dene’ Victory, Skylar Faith Victory, Jason Patrick Benton Neal, Stephanie Mckayla Neal and Noah Charles Wyatt Madewell; sisters, Audrey Ernestine Hunt, Patricia Lovealene Hicks, Kimberly Loretta (husband: Jimmy) Rains and Rachael Elizabeth Griffey; a brother, Timothy Michael (wife: Linda) Lee and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie Ray Lee and Bernice Joan Messer and his brother, Paul Gene Hale Lee. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Open Arms Church with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by contingents from the U.S. Navy and the American Legion and VFW. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be offered to Open Arms Church. You may send the family a personal condolence at www.sprolesfamilycares.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home. The Sproles family and staff are honored to serve the family of Walter Patrick “Pat” Lee.
