Wesley Dwain Shields, precious son of Bryan Rodney Shields II and Ashley Brooke (Sherwood) Shields, was born into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester. Monday, upon hearing the unexpected and unwelcome news that there was no heartbeat, Bryan and Ashley said “we chose to give him birth even though we could not give him life.” In addition to his parents of Anderson, Wesley will be forever cherished by his big brother, “B3” Bryan Rodney Shields III and his sweet sister, Landynn Brooke Shields; maternal grandparents, Steven Douglas Sherwood of Winchester and Connie Sue Sherwood of Dublin; paternal grandparents, Rev. Bryan Rodney and Linda Ruth Shields of Curry, AL; maternal great-grandfather, Bill Sherwood of Connersville; paternal great-grandparents, Rodney B. and Marylee K. Shields of Littlefield, TX and Shelden and Ruth Wright of Corydon; an uncle, Gregory Ryan Shields of Curry, AL; two aunts, Elizabeth Renee Shields of Anderson and Amber Nicole (husband; Teddy) Stevenson of Jasper, AL and two cousins, Alexia Nicole and Shane Alec Stevenson. Waiting to hold him in heaven were his maternal grandparents, Mary Ann Sherwood and Dale Woodson and Jessie Pauline Suttles. Funeral services for Wesley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle with Rev. Martin Barnard officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
