Jerry Lee Lashley

Jerry Lee Lashley, 85, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Worthington Place in Camby. He was born on August 21, 1940, in Washington, Indiana, a son of the late George William “Bill” and Ruth Levada (Evans) Lashley. Jerry attended Washington High School. Around 1960, he and his family moved to Indianapolis, where he began working for RCA. He faithfully served the company for 29 years before retiring. On November 28, 1958, Jerry married the love of his life, Janice Sue Clark. Together, they built a life centered around their family and faith and were blessed with 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2010. Jerry was a faithful, longtime member of Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, where he served on the church board for many years. His love for the Lord was reflected in his deep concern for missions and his desire to help share the Gospel with others. He was especially proud to have been instrumental in building Lashley Bible Church in Western Kenya, a lasting testimony to his missions-minded heart and commitment to the work of God. A hardworking and determined man, Jerry spent many years working at RCA while also farming. He later owned and operated a ServiceMaster franchise and continued working well into his 80s. Whether at the factory, on the farm, in his business, or serving through the church, Jerry approached his responsibilities with dedication and perseverance. Jerry also enjoyed sports throughout his life. He played on the RCA softball team and especially enjoyed basketball and volleyball. Above all, Jerry will be remembered as a faithful Christian man who loved the Lord, worked hard, cared deeply for his family, and sought to make a difference in the lives of others. His legacy of faith, service, and devotion will continue through the many lives he touched. Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory include his three children, Stanley J. Sr. (Alice) Lashley, Lesa A. (David) Wetherald, and Brad (Crystal) Lashley, all of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Stanley Lashley Jr., Kemberly S. (Andrew) Casalino, Jonathan Wetherald, Timothy (Abby) Wetherald, Robyn (Cameron) Lynn, and Bradley Lashley; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Teresa (Brian) Tarter of Albany, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Sue Lashley, and his brother, Randall Joe Lashley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, 168 Lawndale Drive, Plainfield, Indiana, with his sister, the Rev. Teresa Tarter, officiating. Burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
