Michael D. Brown

Michael D. Brown, 74, of Pendleton, passed away on the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 2, 1951, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late David Seymour and Stella (Young) Brown. Michael was a 1969 graduate of Blue River Valley High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance and management from Ball State University in 1974. For over 40 years, he owned Health Care Economics, Inc., and was a certified health care business consultant. Michael enjoyed playing golf and would enthusiastically share that he had shot a hole in one at the Tri-County Golf Club. He was a loyal sponsor of Pendleton Little League for 25 years and a big supporter of the Pendleton Players Theatre Troupe. Michael worked with the “Light the Night” group to secure funding and install lighting for the Pendleton High School Baseball diamonds. In his downtime, Michael loved reading and wintering in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Those left to cherish Michael’s memory include his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline “Jacque” Brown; two sons, Christopher (Jodi) Brown of Pendleton and Nathaniel Brown of Carmel; three grandchildren, Parker, Raegan, and Beckham Brown; a sister, Patricia (Lyle) Keesling of Augusta, GA; three nephews, Mark (Tammy) Keesling of North Augusta, South Carolina, Tim (Lora) Keesling of New Castle, and Brandon (Amanda) Dudley of Indianapolis, and two nieces, Deb (Doug) Teague of Sevierville, TN and Kelly (Justin) Morris of Spanish Fort, Alabama. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Sproles Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Wiles officiating. Burial will be held privately at Mount Summit Cemetery.
