Ruth Burk

Ruth (Williams) Neal Burk, 90, of Spiceland, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Henry Community Health. She was born September 12, 1926 in New Castle, Indiana a daughter of the late George Raney Williams and Ora Rebecca (Strickland) Williams Garrett. Ruth was the Office Manager of CMH & Associates for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of Spiceland Friends Meeting where she taught Sunday School, having taught all ages. Ruth was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and the B&B Book Club. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors, watching birds and growing amazing flower gardens. Ruth was an avid football fan and especially the Colts. Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory include her four sons, Stephen Robert (wife: Denise) Neal of Huntington, Terry Joe Neal of Dearborn, MI, John Alan Neal of Kentucky and Dennis Michael Neal of Spiceland; grandchildren, Kristi (Neal) Gzym, Shane Neal, Justin Neal, James (wife: Jenny) Neal, Greg Neal, Jacob (wife: Kate) Neal, Matt (wife: Renee) Neal and Danielle (husband: Phil) Sybert; great-grandchildren, Austin Gzym, Sierra Jones, Dylan Myers, Kaitlyn Denny, Braden Neal, Allison “Ali” Neal, Colton Neal, Ryliegh Neal, Hunter Sybert and Connor Sybert; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Williams; a brother-in-law, Richard (wife: Carolyn) Neal; a special nephew, Jim (wife: Pat) Chandler as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband, J.C. “Bob” Neal; her second husband, William E. “Bill” Burk; three sisters, Leona Hines, Irene Chandler and Esther Barnhart; three brothers, Ivan, Harold and Eugene Williams and a grandson, Geoffrey Neal. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home.
