Teresa Ann Denny, 62, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Born Teresa Ann Boatman on May 11, 1964, to Leeman and Geneva Boatman, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys of the town she always called home. Teresa was a woman of deep Christian faith, and that faith carried her through every season of her life. She was, in every sense, a heart at the center of her family — a wife, mother, grandma, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She gave each of those roles her whole self. She and her husband, Tim, shared 45 years of marriage — a love measured not in grand gestures but in a lifetime of showing up for each other, day after day. As a girl, Teresa was happiest with a ball in her hand — she played softball and loved skating. That spark of energy and competitiveness stayed with her always. She got her start delivering papers right here in New Castle and later spent several years in retail sales, where her warmth made her a familiar, friendly face. And like so many who grew up here, she loved to cruise Broad Street — windows down, in no particular hurry, soaking up the place and the people she loved. Teresa had a special tenderness for her cats, and a particular soft spot for one named Whiskey, who never left her side. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timothy, who passed away at just 37 years old. Losing him was the deepest sorrow of her life, and she carried his memory in her heart every single day. Also preceded in death by Leeman and Geneva Boatman (parents), and Amy Acrey (sister). She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Tim; her devoted daughter, Tayli; her son, Noah; her granddaughter, Alexis; her great-grandson, Tobias; several sisters and brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly. Teresa’s visitation will be held at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle, IN, from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026. Teresa lived gently and loved deeply. She will be missed beyond words — and is now reunited with her son, Timothy, at peace and at home. The Sproles family and staff are honored to serve the family of Teresa Denny.
