Thank you for your patience and understanding as we honor Wanda and the wonderful Christian lady she was.*** Wanda Sue (Poole) Gregory, 69, of New Castle, literally worshipped her way into the Throne Room of Heaven while at church on Sunday morning, March 15, 2020. While the song “Our God is Awesome” was being sung, Wanda was walking the aisles and praising the Lord with hands raised, when the Lord called her home. She was born on August 2, 1950 in Beaumont, Texas, a daughter of the late Terrell and Creola (Hampton) Poole. Wanda was a faithful servant of God, a mother of prayer and she was everyone’s rock. She married Harold Lee Gregory on December 14, 1991 and together they enjoyed a wonderful 28 years of marriage. She was an active member of The Sanctuary of New Castle, singing in the choir, participating in her prayer group, and was the Captain of the Prayer Response Team. Wanda was a faithful Christian who spent much time in intercessory prayer. She enjoyed walking and visiting with neighbors and especially the neighborhood children who loved Wanda. She wasn’t much on electronics but loved texting her sisters from around the country in their group text. Those left to cherish Wanda’s memory include her loving husband, Harold Lee Gregory; a daughter, Lisa Joe Crosby Catron (Tony) of New Castle; son, Stephen Harold (Jana) Gregory of Arlington, TX; daughter, Julie (Randy) Faulkner of Greenwood; son, Timothy Mark (Gina) Gregory of Venice, FL; grandchildren, Aleczander Goldsberry, Andrew Goldsberry, Alex (Megan) Catron, Brooke (Chad) McRoberts, Christopher (Amanda) Gregory, Cara (Scott) Robertson, Kayla Gregory, Cameron Gregory, Amber (Randy) Thomason, Sarah (Luis) Serrano, Taylor Faulkner, Joshua Lloyd, and Kadin Gregory; great-grandchildren, Juliana, Gracie, Miguel, Sofia, Oliver, Levi, Cooper, Anna, and Jakob; four sisters, Bilbie (Harold) Chesser of Hemphill, TX, Bobbye Jean (Jack) Whalen of Troy, MO, Brenda Gale Shriner of Koontz, TX; Olissa (Les) Smith of Warren, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alissa Dyson and Virgie Stutts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2020, at The Sanctuary of New Castle with Pastor Jeff Jaco officiating. The funeral will be streamed live at www.my-sanctuary.org. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4 - 8 Friday at Sproles Family Funeral Home.
